Museum Seni Rupa dan Keramik

Located at Jalan Pos Kota No. 2, West Jakarta, within the revitalized Kota Tua cultural district, the Fine Art and Ceramics Museum (Museum Seni Rupa dan Keramik) occupies a landmark neoclassical building originally constructed in 1870. The structure historically served as the Council of Justice (Raad van Justitie) during the Dutch colonial administration, later functioning as military headquarters and a West Jakarta mayoral office before officially opening as a museum in 1990. The museum houses an extensive collection of over 2,000 artworks and ceramic pieces. The fine art section showcases prominent Indonesian painters and sculptors, featuring works by legendary Indonesian masters such as Raden Saleh, Affandi, S. Sudjojojonoe, and Basuki Abdullah, spanning styles from romanticism and realism to modern expressionism. The ceramics gallery displays a rich variety of local earthenware from regions across the Indonesian archipelago—including Majapahit-era artifacts—alongside valuable international collections from China, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, and European countries dating back centuries. The museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, remaining closed on Mondays and national holidays.
